  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Meet some locals at Daisy Hill Koala Centre

The Daisy Hill Koala Centre is home to several resident koalas and is packed with interactive displays. It is a fantastic place to go to learn more about these iconic marsupials and, best of all, entry is free! There are also public barbecues, sheltered tables and picnic lawns galore. Daisy Hill also has several hiking trails and mountain bike tracks, making it an excellent hub for a whole day of activity.

Shop while the kids play at IKEA

IKEA is a fantastic holiday destination – there are often events and activities in store, the restaurant is kid friendly, and the Småland play area is the perfect, supervised space to leave young children while the adults shop. Head here to pick up some new toys or craft supplies while shopping for furniture and kitchenware. Småland is currently only operating at the Logan store.

Take in an exhibition at Logan Art Gallery

The exhibitions are often dynamic and interactive, and can range from touring exhibitions to local artists, featuring artists in residence or works from the Logan art collection. The gallery also offers a range of free public programs, including guided tours, workshops, special events and artist talks. The dedicated Young People’s Gallery showcases exhibitions for young people or by young people and provides fun, interactive activities for younger visitors.

There’s a huge array of incredible produce on offer across more than 100 stalls every Sunday at the Global Food Markets in Woodridge, from the more familiar apples, bananas, tomatoes and potatoes to more exotic produce including Kundru, Jack Fruit, Cassava and Durian. The authentic street food vendors serve up a rich feast for the senses, leaving visitors feeling like they’ve been transported to another country. Get outside at a park, playground or bike track

There are hundreds of incredible parks, playgrounds and bike tracks in Logan. These are a few of our favourite super parks that are worth travelling to as school holiday destinations:

Underwood Park and Funderwood Hollow

Underwood Park is a lovely spacious park with heaps of play features to suit all ages. There are several playground areas here, including Underwood Hollow, a unique timber Spielart adventure playground, a long flying fox, pedal bikes and a second large climbing fort with shade sails. There’s even a nature play section. Underwood Park is also home to numerous sporting fields, a skate park, BMX track, lagoons and lawn areas.

Logan Gardens playground and water play

Logan Gardens is a huge park with a whole range of elements. The water play section is a highlight, featuring fountains, tipping buckets, water tables and more. It’s designed with accessibility and offers a free play space for people of all ages and abilities. Play elements include swings, spinners, climbing ropes, and a fenced all-abilities playground section.

Flagstone Adventure Park

Flagstone Adventure Park’s playground has to be seen to be believed and there’s plenty here to fill a day with fun! From the mega slides and suspended bridge, to the free water park including tippers, fountains and giant trees you can climb up, there’s so much to do here! There are also smaller toddler-friendly climbing structures and a popular skate park here to enjoy.

Albert River Park

Albert River Park is in a central location, right near Beenleigh and on the banks of the Albert River. There’s a range of play equipment here, including mega slides, multiple play structures, a basketball court, a brightly-coloured skate park, table tennis tables, barbecues, covered picnic tables, shade sails and plenty of outdoor seating.

Berrinba Wetlands

Berrinba Wetlands cover a massive area, with two-thirds of it protected as a reserve for native plants and wildlife. There’s a lot to do here with over 8 kilometres of walking paths through the natural environment, playground equipment, barbecues and picnic areas close to the water. The play equipment features a large flying fox, swings, climbing nets and other play structures.
