Goodstart Early Learning Virginia sits right in the heart of Virginia and is positioned right alongside Virginia train station. Goodstart Virginia is a beautiful purpose-built service which opened back in April of 2005. Many of the centre’s wonderful, qualified staff members have been part of the Goodstart team since the centre’s opening or very shortly after, and they look forward to many more years of enjoyment, continuity and consistency of staff.
Flexible program from 6 weeks of age
Goodstart Early Learning Virginia has 5 rooms, and provides care for babies as young as 6 weeks right through to school aged. With their two spacious playgrounds and plentiful resources, each room provides Weekly Programs that consist of exciting, age appropriate and educational activities and experiences to assist with each child’s individual development and requirements.
Goodstart Early Learning Virginia offers the children within their care the chance to experience a wide range of activities in all areas, including science, maths, language and literature, cognitive (thinking) skills, problem solving, computers, multi-cultural, diversity and gender equality, which all help each child grow and develop across all areas. The staff believe that all children have the right to an individual opinion, and are treated as individuals with unique personalities. At Goodstart Virginia they support children to grow and learn as they discover their own identity and encourage them to be proud of what makes them unique. They also pay respect to the traditional land owners the ‘Turrbul’ people and acknowledge all Torres Strait Islander and Indigenous children, educators and families who come through their doors and work to educate the children within their care about the Islander and Indigenous cultures that exist within our community.
Guiding the leaders of tomorrow
As Educators, the staff at Goodstart Early Learning Virginia aim to expose all children in their care to a wide variety of languages of other cultures and their customs through an array of activities within their daily programs, including cooking, singing, learning languages, stories and games. Goodstart believes that teaching children to foster a healthy lifestyle is important. They promote this life-long way of life by encouraging healthy eating during meal times, engaging the children in physical activities and experiences, and teaching about health, nutrition and dental hygiene. The staff believe that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow and strive to help each child to become well rounded healthy individuals in both body and mind.
Each Early Childhood Educator understands the important and vital role that they play with supporting and guiding individual children’s development in a way that nurtures and allows children to feel safe and secure in their environment whilst continuing to enhance their abilities. With the incorporation of the Early Years Learning Framework into the centre, the staff also look forward to assisting children with their Belonging, Being & Becoming part of their community, environment and the world around them as a whole.

Goodstart Early Learning Virginia prides itself on communication and parent participation. They encourage all parents and guardians to be active contributors and participate in the every day running of the centre through their Open Door Policy, and appreciate all feedback and queries along the way to better support and educate staff in the role they play with educating your children.
