  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Aussie World | Rides and Fun Close to Brisbane

Last Updated: January 30, 2022
Rainbow coloured Aussie World sign.

Aussie World is well known for being the midway (to the coast) tourist attraction for Brisbanites looking for fun and frivolity between the city and the beach. You will find it next to the Banana bender Pub, which used to be the iconic Ettamogah Pub, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Over 30 fun rides at Aussie World

Aussie World incorporates over 30 thrilling rides and games for children and adults of all ages. There are also six venues for those wishing hold a function. The compact size of the park and the lack of massive queues means visitors can spend more time having fun on the rides, then waiting in lines.

Water Play at Aussie World

Leak’n Logs is a water play area jam-packed with unpredictable water surprises including a tin shed that inside emulates a typical Queensland electrical storm complete with thunder, wind, lightning and rain. You can expect to be entertained by a walk-through mist shed sitting underneath a leaky corrugated iron water tank, random tipping buckets, intermittent and continuous showers, an outback log waterfall, and irregular dancing water jets.  A great way to cool off on a hot summer day!

Rides at Aussie World

Aussie World’s fun rides and attractions include water ride Plunge where your pants are guaranteed to get wet.  Plunge has two steep climbs and drop-offs.  Riders sit aboard hollowed-out logs propelled by flowing water through a waterway before climbing 13 metres then plunging down a ramp at great speed…..twice!  Riders and spectators are treated to a water splash created by the downhill momentum.

Aerial view of giant yellow slide at Aussie World.

The aptly named Giant Slide has become a family favourite and is 46 metres long, 15 metres high and nine metres wide.  Riders collect a mat at the base of the ride then walk up to a lofty platform five stories high in the sky then slip and slide safely down.  It’s a perfect ride for all the family to experience.

Thrill ride Redback targets those with an adventurous spirit.  The Redback seats 24 people, is an impressive 16 metres in height and has clockwise and anticlockwise circular rotations on a platform with outward facing seats.  It’ll make you scream!

AW_ILLUSIONARIUM_MIRRORS-w1000-h1000

Professor Bogglesworth’s Illusionarium launched in 2015. This incredible sensory experience that features 2000 specialty lights and lasers takes guests on a trip through the ‘multiverse’. This amazing attraction will boggle the mind and leave every member of the family in awe.

Rides for the big kids (over 130cm) include:

  • SX360
  • Dingo Racer
  • The Wasp
  • Redback
  • Retro Rocket
  • Rev Shed Dodgems (smaller children to be accompanied)
  • Ballroom Blitz
  • Mayhem Maze: Asylum (12yrs +)

Other rides and attractions include:

  • Bombora Bounce
  • Speed Stars
  • Space Shaker
  • Ferris Wheel
  • Booma Zooma
  • The Plunge
  • The Giant slide
  • Mozzi Musta
  • Bug Run
  • Platypus Ponds Mini Golf

There is plenty for the little kids too including the Tin Lids Tea Party ride, the Carousel, Giggle Go Round, Little Beaut Toot Toot, and everyone’s favourite, Side Show Alley.

With so many thrilling rides and games Aussie World is a fantastic day out for the entire family!

What’s new at Aussie World?

2022 will see the addition of yet another thrill seeker ride, Dingo Racer. This bright orange roller coaster ride is for daredevils over 130cm and will be sure to get your heart racing as you zoom round the tracks.

Before You Go

Before you plan your visit, be sure to visit the Aussie World website and social media page to make sure the park is open and check which rides are closed for maintenance or due to weather.

NO outside food or drinks are permitted to be brought into the park, with the exception of bottled water,  so keep this in mind when considering your food options for the day. There is a cafe onsite or alternatively the Banana Bender Pub is located just outside the entrance and serves amazing meals suitable for the whole family.

You will get a little bit wet on The Plunge ride, though you usually will dry pretty quickly moving around the park. If your children love water play then pack their swimmers, sun protection and a towel so they can enjoy splishing and splashing at Leak ‘n Logs.

There are height restrictions on many of the rides, with some rides requiring smaller children to be accompanied by an adult, so keep this in mind if you are one adult taking many small children.

Lockers are available for a small fee near the toilet facilities should you require them.

Make a Day of It

After you have spent the day at Aussie World why not pay a visit to the surrounding retail village which includes a diverse retail strip with some very unique gift lines and locally made products.

Caloundra isn’t far either, so perhaps you could swing by there for a play on the beach on your way home, if the kids (and adults) aren’t too exhausted.

Aussie World is open from 10am to 3pm weekdays and 10am to 4pm weekends. There are various closure dates for the park and rides throughout the year so check their website before visiting for details and ticketing at www.aussieworld.com.au
