  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Ice Skating in Brisbane

Iceworld Olympic Ice Rinks – Acacia Ridge and Boondall

Iceworld, ice skating in Brisbane

Iceworld has two purpose-built venues – one on Brisbane’s northside at Boondall and the other at Acacia Ridge on the southside. On a hot Summer’s day, it is the ideal place to escape the heat, with the inside temperature on the ice set at around 10 degrees. Catering for children three years and older, spending time at Iceworld will undoubtedly result in lots of spins, twists, turns and giggles. Iceworld also offers a skate school during term times, birthday parties, and general public skating sessions. You can read our detailed review of Iceworld.

Facilities: Skate shop, café, function room and toilets.

  • Additional services provided – many indoor skate facilities offer drinks/snacks, toilet facilities, supervision and various skating programs

Learn to rollerblade

Rollerblading Brisbane Skate School caters to beginner, intermediate and advanced skaters. With lessons held at venues across Brisbane, you can BYO skates or have quality skates provided for you. Find out more at https://www.rollerbladingbrisbane.com.au/

Safety first

Undertaking any activity with children generally requires a fair amount of planning, and skating is no exception. Even though you may be visiting an indoor skate facility, consider the following:

  • Safety gear – accidents can happen in any environment when skating, so consider decking your skater in added protection such as helmets, knee pads, gloves and elbow pads
  • Appropriate clothing – Long pants and long socks may protect skin from minor injuries, and can help prevent skates rubbing.
  • Supervision – all young children should be adequately supervised by a responsible adult when skating.
  • Follow the Rules – Indoor skate facilities will have their own set of rules which should be read, understood and adhered to at all times.

Many facilities require bookings, have altered opening hours or special requirements – so please check individual websites for details prior to visiting.
