Berrinba Wetlands Park
The Berrinba Wetlands in Browns Plains is a nature-lovers paradise. Home to more than 430,000 native trees, shrubs, flowers and bushes, there are also over 100 nesting boxes for native possums, gliders and birds in the wetlands. The kids will be able to learn more about the wildlife found here at the Interpretive Centre before exploring the 8.5 km of walkways and bike tracks.
Slacks Creek Nature Reserve
Slacks Creek Nature Reserve offers walking trails, boardwalks and fantastic hiking opportunities, but it is the butterfly population here that your kids will adore. Home to a high number of butterfly species, in particular, the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly, there are several signs along the many pathways alerting visitors to the different butterflies to be seen and viewed here.
Greenwood Lakes
Greenwood Lakes is the perfect location for bird and other wildlife watching. The boardwalk and raised viewing platform are perfect for spotting water birds, turtles and other animals in the area. Families can also enjoy the many bushwalking tracks and picnic areas here too.
Eagleby Wetlands
Kids will love getting lost along the many bushwalks in the Eagleby Wetlands. With boardwalks and gravel paths that are easily accessible for prams and wheelchairs, the whole family can discover the various trails, ponds and lagoons. A habitat thriving with wildlife to discover, the Eagleby Wetlands is known for its vast bird population. Over 200 native Australian bird species have been recorded here. Four bird hides, fitted with viewing slots at different heights to accommodate all ages, are also a highlight.
Daisy Hill Koala Centre

Jinnung Jalli Park Interpretative Nature Trail
Jinnung Jalli means ‘walking around through the trees’ in the language of the traditional custodians of Yarrabilba, the Yugambeh people. Jinnung Jalli Park aims to educate visitors through an interpretive native plant trail, which the kids can follow as they learn about the native plants found here and how they were used. A beautiful space to be immersed in, the park also features picnic facilities, a pedestrian and cycle pathway and a kick-about space.
Daisy Hill Conservation Park
Daisy Hill Conservation Park is the perfect nature-play playground for your kids. They can explore the Melaleuca Wetlands and the open Eucalypt forest with walking, biking, and horse riding tracks sprinkled throughout the parklands. The day-use area also features two options—Wild Nature Play and Indigenous Games—to engage your kids with the nature around them. Don’t forget to visit the Koala Centre too when you are there!
Plunkett Conservation Park Cave
Plunkett Conservation Park is a small journey of discovery for kids looking for a bit of imaginative play and mystery. With numerous trails to discover within the bushlands, highlights for kids will be the small caves they can explore and the rock outcrop with views over Cedar Creek Valley.
Lagoon Trail at Tygum Park
If you want free things to do in Logan, then Tygum Park in Waterford West is a lovely, relaxing way to spend the day with the kids. The lagoon here has a 1.3km sealed pathway and boardwalk that goes all the way around it, and there is a sweet pirate-themed playground the kids will love too. If you head to the park on a Wednesday or weekend, the kids will be able to delight in the miniature boats that the Logan City Marine Modellers set sail on the lagoon waters.
Fairy Finds at Cornubia Forest Park
Cornubia Forest Park will also give your family a nature escape with a bit of magic thrown in. A 1.4km flat, concrete path winds its way over several bridges and beneath a canopy of Melaleuca trees before leading to a few secret fairy-laden finds. Colourful rocks lead to a decorated private fence with a fairy door and ornamental creatures. Further along, an old tree stump is adorned with a small doorway and opening.

Flagstone Adventure Park

Mable Park Slacks Creek
This bright, cheerful playground boasts a multistorey playground with a tunnel slide, thankfully covered in a shade sail with its sand base. The kids will enjoy the learn-to-ride track at Mabel Park together with a the hand-operated water pump that falls into the drive creek bed.

Bushland Bike Tracks at Tudor Park
A bike rider’s paradise, Tudor Park offers visitors 7 different tracks to choose from. Catering for beginners through to advanced riders, there is a pump track featuring rollers and berms designed so riders gain speed. The other six tracks through the bushland have dirt jumps, timber rollers and a whale tail jump for advanced riders.
Beenleigh BMX and Skate Park
The Beenleigh BMX and Skate Park has to be seen to be believed! For any family with kids who love a moving challenge, this park is the destination for skaters, BMX riders and other extreme sports aficionados around South East Queensland. There are rails, ramps, walls, fun boxes, quarter pipes, half pipes and more. There is also a dirt track here with plenty for BMX riders to play on with the Beenleigh BMX club based and a track for BMX racing.
Cycle Park at Demeio Road Park
Demeio Road Park is another favourite for families looking to do free things in Logan with their kids. A wonderful way to teach younger kids about cycling safety, there are 220 metres of cycle pathways featuring road signs, a pedestrian crossing, intersections and a roundabout. It also features mini versions of the iconic Logan River red bridge and the Gateway Bridge.
Children’s Cycle Trail at Noyer Park
Another park that features an incredible cycle path for kids is Noyer Park in Logan. The track features alternating sections of concrete and pebble pathways, and with its wide open design, clear of obstacles, it is the perfect place for less confident or beginner riders to practice their skills.
Underwood Park
One of the best parks in the Logan area, Underwood Park has so much to offer families. The Logan City Historical Museum was established more than 30 years ago with a charter to preserve Logan’s past for the future. Chung Tian Temple
Open every Tuesday through Sunday, the Chung Tian Temple is a Chan Buddhist temple which forms part of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist monastic order. Free to enter and surrounded by nature, the temple provides a peaceful and culturally beautiful venue where kids can learn more about different beliefs and cultures. There is also a tea room, art gallery, museum, and gardens.
Mayes Cottage
If you would love to introduce the kids to another part of Logan’s history, visiting Mayes Cottage is a fun free thing to do with them. A reminder of Queensland’s pioneering age, the cottage was built in 1887 and has had very few changes. You can enjoy a picnic on the grounds or chat on the veranda with the volunteer guides. Tours of the Mayes Cottage House Museum are free and open to everyone.
Logan Village to Yarrabilba Rail Trail
The Logan Village to Yarrabilba Rail Trail is a 3.5km trail that extends through native bushland. The 2.5m wide asphalt pathway is designed for walking, jogging and hiking. Built on the de-commissioned Bethania to Beaudesert rail corridor, train enthusiasts will enjoy sections of the old rail track. If you go at night, the large white bollards at the entrance light up with images of important historical figures.
