  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve

Last Updated: October 17, 2023
Redbank Plains Reserve Playground

Located just 15 minutes from Ipswich city, the recently upgraded Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve has become a favourite meeting place for the community to gather, play, socialise and relax. A sky high activity tower and skate park will keep the big kids busy while a dedicated toddler playground is sure to keep little adventurers safe and happy.

Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve Playground

The central playground is all about the vertical thrill with a 9-metre tall adventure tower made from cargo netting, platforms and ladders. It’s a challenging climb but the roped exterior allows for good parental supervision and encouragement if needed.

Successful climbers have a choice of either a super speedy tunnel slide or a darkened, twisty tube slide, which will excite older playground enthusiasts.

Another stand out feature is the 20-metre long high ropes style course which again is aimed at the bigger kids and is a real test of balance, strength and coordination. Mini climbers can also enjoy the course with the help of a guiding adult hand.

In addition to this, the play space also contains a giant, rotating birds nest swing and multiple bay swing set for joint play plus cool spinners for the sensory seekers.

Adjacent to this is a brightly coloured, platform-style playground designed completely with your littlest family members in mind. This fantastic junior playground was upgraded only two years ago and is suitable for ages 1 to 5 with its easy to access platforms, ground level educational activities, gentle slides and cute pretend play environments.kids playground redbank plains ninja playground equipment.

On top of this, are other playground essentials such as swings, see saws, bouncers and inclusive carousel – all built on a soft base and with generous shade sail coverings. There’s also plenty of nearby seating to help keep a close eye on the kids or to settle in for a picnic lunch.

Located just along the footpath is a huge skate park which has also recently undergone a makeover and is popular among skaters of all skill levels. The skate park also neighbours a large grassy field, making for the ideal soccer pitch, friendly cricket match, or even an afternoon of kite flying.

Redbank Plains Reserve Imagination Factor

The main activity tower is a great source for imaginary play as its abstract design creates a blank canvas for storytelling. Ropes and netting are reminiscent of a pirate ship and the crown like shape on top could lead to games of princes and princesses. The nearby high ropes course also provides a great setting for pretend play with its elements of height, risk and adventure.

The neighbouring toddler playground is jam packed with sensory experiences from the musical instruments to the interactive games with fun to be discovered at every corner. Shop and cafe fronts are also included to promote social inclusion and to guide children towards a creative style of play.

Redbank Plains Reserve Accessibility

There is a large car park located on Cedar Road which provides easy access to both play spaces. Accessible toilets are situated in a central location with all amenities connected via a concrete, path network. The playgrounds are partially fenced along the Redbank Plains Road and Cedar Road boundaries however they are not fenced from the busy car park.

What our kids loved about this park!

toddler playground redbank recreation reserve.

We love the excitement and wow factor of modern playgrounds like the one at Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve but what really gets our tick of approval is the equally impressive toddler playground. A lot of care and thought has been given to creating a space that’s inviting and accessible for children of all ages which earns this playground a spot on your to visit list.

It’s hard work with all that playing, so why not stop by Springfield Central for a refreshing dip in Orion Lagoon or have a splash at Robelle Domain Splash Park. Another great resource is our comprehensive list of Ipswich Parks
