  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Phil Denman Park in Jamboree Heights

Last Updated: May 3, 2023
Phill Denmam Park

You will uncover one of the best secrets in the Western suburbs at the end of a dead-end street in Jamboree Heights. Phil Denham Park features an impressive, contemporary kids’ playground with wide open spaces, basketball courts, cricket nets, a bike track, and an off-leash dog park.

Phil Denman playground is a modern park with four awesome forts on different levels with bridges, climbing frames and monkey bars. In addition, ladders, a fireman’s pole, and a mixture of enclosed and double slides act as entry and exit points to and from the forts. While the monkey bars and bridges are a good challenge for older kids, the park also works well for toddlers with two swings, smaller slides, and a lot of sensory play equipment on the ground level such as steering wheels, gears, mirrors, naughts and crosses games, music tubes and more.

A quick stroll from the playground equipment takes you into a sportsperson’s paradise that will entertain the kids for hours with cricket nets, half and full-court basketball courts and a rebound wall. A vast open grassed field is perfect for kids to run free. There are shade sails over the play forts, but bringing hats along is a bright idea if children want to use the other areas in the park.

Phil Denman Park also has a pathway from Loffs Road over a little bridge that crosses a creek and continues to Beanland Street. This pathway connects to a small children’s bike circuit with roundabouts, speed bumps and traffic signs, which is an excellent place for Brisbane Kids to practise riding their bikes and scooters.

Imagination Factor

Jamboree Heights Playground

Phil Denman Park will entertain Brisbane Kids of all ages. Little kids can be princesses or knights as they play in the forts. Bigger kids can be their favourite sports person as they take advantage of the sporting equipment available.

The open spaces lend themselves to a game of tiggy, or a family game of soccer and would be perfect for flying a kite on a windy day. Phil Denman Park could entertain families and kids of all ages for hours.

Accessibility

There is no specific equipment that makes Phil Denman Park an all-abilities playground. The playground has a wheelchair and pram-accessible walkway from the car park at the Beanland Street entry. Walkway access is also available to the park via Loffs Rd. However, wheelchairs may need to be pushed across the open grassed areas to access the playground, basketball courts, cricket nets, and rebound wall. Accessible toilets are a short distance from the playground across a flat grassed area.

What we thought of Phil Denman Park

Phil Denman Park is incredibly impressive as it packs so much into one venue. We loved how visually incredible the playground was, with so many places to explore. We think it is a wonderful park for families with children of different ages, as there are great options for toddlers, older children and even teens who like sports.
