  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

The popular Paniyiri is returning to Musgrave Park again in May 2024.

Paniyiri Greek Festival 2024

Queensland’s largest cultural festival, Paniyiri, is gearing up for a big celebration in 2024! Paniyiri, which honours all things Greek, is the longest-running Australian Greek festival that culminates in a massive weekend of events in May each year.

Celebrating its 48th year in 2024, the Paniyiri Festival will take place at the Greek Club, as well as in Musgrave Park in West End. Event attendees can expect to see Zorba dancing, plate smashing, honey puff eating competitions, cooking demonstrations, a pop-up Greek village and lots and lots of delicious Greek delicacies.

What is Paniyiri?

Paniyiri began in 1976, with a group of Greek Australians dream of bringing the sights, smells, sounds, tastes and atmosphere of Greece to the streets of Brisbane. Brisbane’s Greek Festival is a community initiative, the proceeds of which are put back into the South-East Queensland Greek community through the Greek Orthodox Community of St George. Established in the 1920’s, this is Brisbane’s oldest Greek community. The legendary Paniyiri Greek Festival in Brisbane continues to remain true to the original plan, attracting over 60, 000 visitors to the event each year.

Taking place on the last weekend of the Greek Festival, the amazing food of Greece is showcased at more than 30 food stalls in Musgrave Park at West End every year to commemorate Paniyiri. Visitors can also enjoy entertainment on the main stage, including the famous Zorba, Kalamatiano, Sirto and Sousta dances performed to live traditional Greek music.

Paniyiri Greek Festival is a multi-sensory experience where all ages and abilities are encouraged to dance the Zorba, stomp some grapes, shop the market stalls & sample the huge variety of savoury or sweet delicacies from multiple food stalls representing the different Greek regions.
